Kayla Smith, Au.D. – Clinical Audiologist

Kayla Smith is a nationally certified Doctor of Audiology with more than 10 years of experience in the field of hearing disorders and hearing aids. Dr. Kayla graduated from Auburn University’s doctoral program in audiology in 2014. Her clinical fellowship was spent at a private practice in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. If you ask, she’ll likely share photos of the ocean view she had from her office!

Prior to that, she received her Masters Degree in oral deaf education with an emphasis on speech perception and production at The University of Southern Mississippi and her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders at Auburn University. Her goal as an audiologist is to create a collaborative and effective experience, centered on evidence-based patient care, by offering hands-on training for a patient and their devices – whether the patient is new to hearing aids or is a decades-long expert on their own hearing health!

Dr. Kayla grew up in Auburn, Alabama (War Eagle!) and has lived in Birmingham for the last 6 years. She lives with her husband, three beautiful children, and her cat named Tuna. When Dr. Kayla isn’t in the audiology clinic, she can usually be found reading, playing with her kids, or experimenting in the kitchen.
