Dr. Russ was diagnosed with progressive hearing loss at age 8 and struggled with decreasing hearing and wearing hearing aids throughout her youth. She eventually received bilateral cochlear implants.
Interested in what caused her hearing loss, Dr. Russ took courses on communication disorders in college, which lead to her passion for audiology. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communicative disorders from the University of Redlands in Redlands, California, and her doctorate in audiology from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Dr. Russ completed her clinical externship at a non-profit speech and hearing center servicing children and adults in Orange, California. Prior to joining Excel ENT of Alabama, she worked as an audiologist with Audiology of Tulsa and Utica Park South Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic, both located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Dr. Russ specializes in the fitting of amplification devices and provides comprehensive diagnostic hearing and balance testing to her patients.
A native of Las Vegas, she is an ardent University of Oklahoma football fan and enjoys hiking, kayaking, trying new restaurants, and attending concerts.
